Transformational Thought 8/1/2026

At the airport on my way back home... Back to reality and I just finished reading Micah and 2 Kings, here is what stood out to me with this reading:

Sometimes we make following God way more complicated than He ever intended. We think He only cares about how often we go to church, how long we pray, or how many Bible verses we know. Those things are important, but Micah reminds us that God is after something even deeper. He wants our hearts.

He tells us to do what's right, love showing mercy, and walk humbly with Him. In other words, don't just talk about your faith—live it. Treat people with kindness. Be quick to forgive. Stay humble enough to admit you still need God every single day.

What encouraged me even more is how Micah ends his book. After all the warnings about sin and judgment, we're reminded that our God delights in showing mercy. Think about that. He doesn't reluctantly forgive us. He delights in it. He takes our sins and throws them into the depths of the sea. He isn't looking for reasons to push us away. He's looking for every opportunity to bring us back.

Then I read about King Hezekiah facing the mighty Assyrian army. The enemy spent all his time trying to convince God's people that God couldn't be trusted. Isn't that exactly how the enemy still works today? He whispers that your situation is too far gone, your prayers aren't working, or God isn't going to come through this time.But Hezekiah reminded the people that while the enemy only had human strength, they had the Lord on their side.

Maybe that's the reminder some of us need today. Whatever battle you're facing, don't let fear have the loudest voice. Let God's promises be louder. The God who fought for His people then is still fighting for His people today  Amen somebod
